When he was introduced to a fawning media conference after taking over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst Micky Beale didn’t miss any opportunity to demonstrate how staunch he is.
Telling fans of a club formed in 2012 by Charles Green that he was going for 56 earned the former QPR boss bonus staunch points while fans of other clubs sat back and laughed at how the insecurities of the gullible sees them hang on those soundbites.
Further points were earned when Micky revealed that not only would be be wearing one of Mister Smith’s old suits to matches but he’d also ensure that the players would wear suits to matches. Apparently it is a tradition that no one had previously applied.

Just over 26,000 turned up at Ibrox for today’s friendly with Bayer Leverkusen but there was something odd about the way the players were dressed when they turned up before the match.
Rather than wearing smart suits they were kitted out in the latest winter tat from Castore Sports, not like they wore in Mister Struth’s day at the old club.
With Castore Sports calling the shots it could be that their contract requires the players to be kitted out in gear from the Liverpool based firm, so far no court cases have come to light with Castore Sports although there is one with Parks of Hamilton.
Thought Michael Beale’s response to my question about wearing a suit in the dugout was interesting.
He confirms the players will start wearing suits to home games as he stressed the importance of the club’s traditions ? pic.twitter.com/ULUdp3zazE
