There was one very familiar face on the telly as Joe Hart and Liel Abada watched the World Cup action from Portugal on Friday afternoon.

Normally the goalie passes the ball wide to Josip Juranovic who links up with the Israeli winger. Yesterday Juranovic had different team-mates and a different kit but the performance was of the usual high quality.

Vinicius Junior went into the match as the great yellow hope, the free scoring Real Madrid winger coming in off the left to present Croatia with three strikers, only problem was that Juranovic wasn’t allowing him any space. Such was his confidence that Juranovic was one of Croatia’s main attacking threats.

Had Croatia lost it would have been back to Lennoxtown at some point in the next 10 days for Juranovic, a World Cup of memories and exchanged jerseys.

Instead, on Tuesday he will be facing Argentina and Lionel Messi looking to extent his Qatar trip with a date in the final of the World Cup.
