Apparently Borna Barisic beat Brazil today! That’s the view of the Football Scotland Twitter account, the digital face of the Daily Record.

There was one outstanding very Scottish angle on Croatia’s penalty shoot out win over Brazil but it was from Josip Juranovic and that might be a bit painful for follow followers of Football Scotland.

Barisic watched the entire match from the sidelines, as close to the action as Antonio Colak and John Souttar, while the Celtic right-back put in a Man of the Match display.

After missing out the group matches Barisic got parachuted in to the side that got past Japan on penalties, not wishing to push his luck Croatian boss Zlatko Dalic put the Ibrox star back on the bench, and left him there despite making five substitutions.
