Petrov proves just too smart for petty Boyd

It seems that pettiness always scores over professionalism for Kris Boyd.

During a goal-laden career stretching to almost 20 years he only notched once against the hoops- in a dead rubber SPL match in 2006 after Gordon Strachan’s side had clinched the title.

Boyd’s move into the media has coincided with a period of unprecedented successes including four successive trebles and being champions in 10 of the last 11 seasons.

A late goal at Aberdeen today restored the nine point lead that Ange Postecoglou’s side went into the World Cup break with, after the match there seemed little prospect of a reasoned discussion in the Sky Sports studio overlooking Pittodrie where Stan Petrov was on duty.

The Sun reports:

Speaking on Sky Sports, Petrov said: “They (Aberdeen) are going up against another big team on Tuesday…” before Boyd cut-in adding: “the bigger team.”

Eilish Barbour, trying to get back on topic said: “You can argue about that later.”

Former Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass was also in the Sky studio, giving a measured appraisal of how his successor, Jim Goodwin had set up the home side.

While Petrov provided an insight into what Celtic had did well and struggled in Boyd feels the need to play to the gallery and constantly share his sense of humour.
