Celtic wind down 2022 with a trip to face Hibs at Easter Road but wind down won’t be a phrase used by Ange Postecoglou.
So far Celtic have been virtually flawless in the SPFL, it is hard to improve on a record of 17 wins from 18 matches with that level of consistency creating a nine point advantage. A lead that requires protection.
To win the title last season Celtic required to win 15 out of 18 matches with the other three drawn, that record turned a six point disadvantage into a four point winning margin.
One of those draws was away to Hibs in February, a rare goalless draw against Shaun Maloney with the Edinburgh side dropping into the bottom six for the post split fixtures.
? “I think they’ll take the game to us a little bit more than others will…”

Lee Johnson has been under pressure as Hibs boss but a 4-0 win over Livingston with Kevin Nisbet and Aiden McGeady fit again has given the club grounds for hope.
Tony Ralston is Celtic’s main injury worry, if he hasn’t recovered it could be a big call to continue with Reo Hatate at right-back. Despite scoring twice against St Johnstone facing Hibs at Easter Road will provide a much tougher test defensively.
