You couldn’t give him away- Kris Boyd finally turns on chunky Morelos

At the start of the season Kris Boyd wouldn’t contemplate any suggestion that there could be a better player in Scotland than Alfredo Morelos.

The former Kilmarnock striker shot down the suggestion from Scott Allan and James McFadden that Jota was the best player in the country.

Any claim that Celtic might be better than their city rivals is met with a scowl from Boydy who is the face and voice of Scottish football as far as Sky Sports are concerned.

Incredibly it seems that the World Cup break has allowed some thinking time to set in, after just 15 matches of the SPFL season Boyd wants Morelos booted out of Ibrox although he isn’t convinced that there are any takers out there for the striker that was once valued at £40m.

In The Sun the former Portland Timbers ace explains:

RANGERS once turned down mega-money for Alfredo Morelos. Now I’m not sure they could give him away.

That’s why Chairman Douglas Park was 100 per cent bang on to tell shareholders at the AGM he won’t be held to ransom by the Colombian.

Some supporters want to see Morelos sign a new deal to prevent him for leaving when his deal runs out at the end of the season. I’m sorry, but my old club would be absolutely crazy to even consider it.

I’ve cut Morelos enough slack down the years and sang his praises. But those days are long gone.

Morelos’ attitude in a Rangers shirt lately just hasn’t been befitting that jersey and he’s made it quite clear his future lies elsewhere.

A return to Colombia at the end of his contract is looking increasingly likely for the chunky striker.
