Concrete offer reported for Celtic defender

Espanyol are reported to have made a concrete offer to Celtic to sign Josip Juranovic.

The defender has been subject to intense speculation since he left Celtic for the World Cup Finals in Qatar.

Six impressive performances in a run to the semi-final put Juranovic even more in the spotlight with Celtic signing Alistair Johnston in the same position.

Despite mention of interest from Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester United no offers have so far been reported but according to Tuttomercato a bid has now come in from Spain:

One of Adriano Galliani’s great goals for Monza is Celtic Glasgow’s right-back, Josip Juranovic , the Croatian international who has half of Europe on his side.

Espanyol has made a concrete offer, even top tier English clubs are seriously interested in one of Monza’s main objectives. Galliani, however, right now wants to step up the pressure and prepares a loan offer with a buy-out obligation set at 7 million euros with bonus.

Juranovic is under contract with Celtic until May 2026 but an offer from Spain, England or Italy is capable of trebling his current salary.

Celtic paid Legia Warsaw around £2.5m for Juranovic in August 2021 just as Tony Ralston was coming out of the shadows with some impressive performances.

By the turn of the year Juranovic established himself as first choice right-back, going on to establish himself in the Croatian international side alongside Luka Modric.
