He didn’t mention the word mate but Ange Postecoglou certainly got his message across about the transfer speculation whizzing around Celtic.

Getting three arrivals completed before January 1 hasn’t dulled the appetite for transfer business with the frenzy only going to intensify before the end of the month.

Three stories have been examined in great detail this week without any concrete developments- the anticipated departures of Giorgos Giakoumakis and Josip Juranovic while every angle has been looked at over the possible arrival of Cho Gue-sung.

I reckon that only 10% of what is out there at the moment is anywhere close to the truth- and that’s not because I think that people are deliberately being misleading it’s just that, you know, they get a bit of information from em, their cousin’s barbers neighbour and it becomes Celtic are linked to a certain player.

From my perspective I don’t get stressed by any of that stuff. When we are ready to do the business, I think that people have seen in the past we do it. We don’t do it through the media, not through speculation, not through being linked.

It’s pretty straightforward, if there is an opportunity there and we feel good about it we’ll move quickly and get it done.

Juranovic and Giakoumakis are likely to be on the bench at Hampden tomorrow as Celtic take on Kilmarnock for a place in the final of the Viaplay Cup Final.

Both players are were signed in August 2021 and under contract until May 2026 but seem likely to move on this month.

When he arrived at Celtic in the summer of 2021 Postecoglou faced a massive rebuilding job, almost from scratch but in Window 4 he is now faced with selling his signings and trying to replace them with better players.
