With all the signs suggesting ZERO spend from Ibrox this month the Daily Record has conjured up some good news for their army of readers.

All it took was a suggestion from Micky Beale from the training ground to paint a picture of happy days with Ianis Hagi and Todd Cantwell dominating Scottish football and bringing trophies back to the Blue Room.

Describing the return of an injured player as ‘just like a new signing’ is one of the most desperate tricks in the game, where Hagi fits in alongside Malik Tillman, Scott Arfield and Cantwell requires even more imagination that the Record can muster up.

The Record reports:

For all the wheeling and dealing that is going on behind the scenes to try to bring players to Ibrox before Tuesday’s transfer deadline, Michael Beale reckons he’s already got TWO new multi-million pound rated bodies through the doors.

Todd Cantwell was paraded by Rangers on Wednesday and will feature in today’s squad against St Johnstone but, if anything, Beale is even more excited by being able to pencil in Ianis Hagi’s name on the team sheet.

Beale claimed:

I just believe in him as a player. Todd had a lot of interest. He had a lot of really good options in the UK and in Europe as well. There were some clubs interested. We hit it off on a one-to-one, it’s fair to say.

Who could fail to hit it off with Beale in a monologue as he explains all the fings that he finks about, discusses in detail every current footballer and his magical training ground routines.

With no one coming in it also seems like no-one is leaving Ibrox this month with the usual tales of interest in Hagi, Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and James Tavernier once again melting away when business can be done.

No doubt after a couple of games Hagi will be back on the radar of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Galatasaray as the ponder a summer swoop for the son of a good player.
