Bobby Madden has been demoted to Fourth Official status in League Two by the EFL for the next two rounds of fixtures.
The celebrity whistler quit Scotland in the summer for the bright lights of England in the hope of getting among the big money appointments in the EPL.
A series of underwhelming performances in League One and League Two culminated in Saturday’s pantomime at the Oxford v Ipswich match.
With heavy fog making it impossible to see the far side of the pitch from the dug-outs both managers requested that the match gets abandoned with the score at 1-1.
The bold Madden told Kieran McKenna (Ipswich) and Carl Robinson (Oxford) that if the game was abandoned beyond the 75th minute the scoreline would stand with a point each.
The two managers agreed to continue playing, Oxford scored to win the match with McKenna far from happy to discover that the 75 minute rule only existed in Madden’s head.
Today the EFL announced their match officials for the weekend and midweek fixtures with Madden dropped to Fourth Official status at the Tranmere Rovers v Leyton Orient match.
It is unlikely that there will be an Instagram update from Birkenhead on Saturday.

No wonder, no Scottish refs were picked for the WC
