Celtic are reported to be showing interest in Szymon Wlodarczyk of Gornik Zabrze although Cho Gue-sung remains their Number 1 striking target.

Wlodarczyk has scored seven goals in 15 Polish League appearances following his summer move from Legia Warsaw.

At the age of 20 he is considerably younger than most of Ange Postecoglou’s signings but with interest in Cho turning into a saga other options have to be explored.

Hendry was first to report Celtic’s interest in Alexandro Bernabei which suggests he has decent contacts inside the club.

Celtic were able to announce three arrivals before the January transfer window opened but their interest in Cho first became public when he scored for South Korea at the World Cup Finals against Ghana.

The situation with Giorgos Giakoumakis also comes into play, it is unlikely that Postecoglou would sanction the sale of the former VVV Venlo striker without having a replacement in the door and ready to go into the side.
