Gary Keown has happily speculated that Ange Postecoglou’s recent comments suggest that he could be on his way out of Celtic with Everton a possible escape route.

A review of the Celtic manager’s career would suggest that moving to a club that is close to devouring a manager a year is highly unlikely. The experiences of Rafa Benitez, Sam Allardyce, Carlo Ancelotti, Marco Silva, Ronald Koeman and Roberto Martinez are a major red flag over the blue half of Merseyside.

Friday’s media conference discussing VAR in a very matter of fact manner seems to have spooked many media outlets who instantly went with tales of a rant, lashing out and hitting out when the delivery was the exact opposite.

After arriving to derision and claims that he’d be gone by Christmas Postecoglou has dominated Scottish football and is now facing his third adversary in the Ibrox dug out.

It is a remarkable story of success but one that some people are very uncomfortable with. Towards the end of a column in the Daily Mail full of sniping at Celtic and the club’s supporters Keown writes:

Yet, those conspiracy theories continue. Postecoglou would be well advised to steer clear, but there will be punters out there delighted to see him take up the cudgels on behalf of the club — the cause — and eager for him to go even further.

They see this spikier version of the boss as their white knight leading the troops into the fray, his grumblings and his asides as a sign that he gets it. Either way, though, the  emergence of Ange The Irritable carries ominous portents. If  Postecoglou really is beginning to listen to those who would tell you that there are booby-traps placed for Celtic round every corner by Scottish football’s illuminati, he’ll end up doo-lally.

Rather than fall back on the ‘conspiracy theory’ perhaps Keown could explain why the league leaders have had five penalties awarded against them yet the side in second place have yet to concede a single penalty.

Yesterday, for the fourth time this season Nick Walsh refereed Celtic. In his day job he is a PE teacher at the partner school on Michael Beale’s club, in daily contact with future players.

Walsh could easily be given matches away from Glasgow to referee in but it seems that the SFA are content with a possible conflict of interest that wouldn’t be allowed in England where referees are kept away from fixtures involving a club that they have any association with.

He could end up even more doo lally and read the Daily Mail; a paper owned by fascists and Nazi sympathisers, who shamelessly promoted the serial liar and criminal Boris Johnson.

So how doo lally do you have to be to work for such an organisation Mr Keown?

  • Sean McGinley says:

The use of a derogatory phrase such as “doo-lally”, in a day when some people are trying to be more empathetic to Mental Illness and Mental Health, in keeping with his baw-jawed DOB pal about Lee Griffiths Health, sums up the low-life of the bigot backwater establishment. As for his comments, treating with same disdain as all journalists.

  • Scud Missile says:

I see James Forrest at the Celtic blog is back to acting like a big cry baby.
Give that guy some constructive criticism and he takes the huff like some of those sevco headbangers in the media,it’s either his way or no way if you don’t lick his arse.
He calls journalists out for PLAGIARISM the guy has a history for this himself, but you won’t hear him talk about blagging other people’s material.
So if your on his site watch what you say because he will take the nip and cut your posts, you know what they say,the truth hurts.

    • Stevie says:

Every Celtic manager I can remember has only going to be there for a year and he’ll be off.soon as sevco string a couple of jammy results give Micky manager of the month. Players no happy at Celtic, manager is off. Micky is the real deal? How come he’s no going . Hell be going shortly especially if its stays a 12 point gap today?.. But we all know what will happen dont we?

  • John S says:

We all know the qualifications to become a top referee in Scotland.

  • John Copeland says:

Anyone who reads the anti Celtic daily Malevolent is already ‘doo lally.’ One of the most biased if not the most biased Tory rags ,the Mail tabloid prints and opines at the drop of a hat the most negative ,adverse garbage imaginable on Celtic FC and I for one would not buff my windows with it after I cleaned them !

  • Frankie says:

Ange to strong minded to let idiots get to him, incidentally scud missile you had Ange away last week, what happened.

    • Scud Missile says:

Frankie baby not last week what I did post last week was that big Ange will be away before the end of the season when the league is won not before, I never said within the week.
So if you want to have a go at me get your facts right first buddy,I can take the flak and criticism unlike your man that writes the Celtic blog.

  • Frankie says:

So scud he is bringing in all these players to up sticks and leave them high and dry don’t think so, where is this information coming from or is it just pie in the sky. He will not let all these clowns drive him out, to strong minded.

    • Scud Missile says:

Frank the look on Ange’s face on Friday at the press conference said it all,he can only put up with so much regarding the excuses.
His reputation is on the line here should he fail to win the league not through his fault or his mistakes, but the cheating with the refs.

  • John says:

Postecoglu does not strike me as desperate or a half-wit, only a desperate half-wit would take the Everton job. Everton still think it is 1985 when as part of the top 5 they voted for the EPL. How’s that working out for ye? Will eventually get relegated.

They have been working to it for years. The EPL is vastly over-rated. 14 teams play for a draw every week. Avoid relegation, hang on for dear life. Admittedly well-paid. But if you already earn 20 odd grand a week, what else do you needAnd as for Celtic invited to ‘re-juvenate’ their dying cup competition. Just F— Right off.

With the clown suggesting that it will be a way to measure how good the top Scottish club’s are. By playing Boreham Wood or the Sheffield teams Surely nobody at Celtic would consider such an insulting offer.
