Pressure is mounting on the Ibrox board to fund the Micky Beale Revolution.

With five days left of the transfer window only the uninspiring figure of Todd Cantwell has been brought to Ibrox while the contracts tick down on seven first team players.

Ross Wilson is the buffer between angry bears and the boardroom but the self-styled Transfer Guru has his work cut out to come up with the goods.

Beale was appointed in November, he had five matches before the transfer window opened with the gullible believing that their club is cash rich after the transfers of Nathan Patterson, Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo topped up the funds from the Europa League run and reaching the Champions League group stage.

Having pushed the boat out to sign Cantwell it seems that there is little left in the warchest with Swansea and Standard Liege in no rush to accept a token fee spread over thee instalments.

Without European football in the second half of the season income at Ibrox will be reduced this season. According to the 2022 accounts post June transfer trading created a £4.9m surplus which was wiped out by paying off Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Adding Ben Davies, Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo and Cantwell to the wage bill will involve a big hike with Filip Helander and Kemar Roofe a major drain with virtually no contribution on the park.
