The J-League has recognised their contribution to Celtic with a tweet celebrating the pipeline of players that have made their way to the Scottish champions.

At half-time on Saturday Tomoki Iwata made his debut, playing for 45 minutes in central midfield in front of Yuki Kobayashi who also joined up in the current transfer window. During the first half Kyogo Furuhashi scored twice to take his tally for the season to 20.

Iwata and Kobayashi are barely in the door but it is impossible to over-estimate the contribution to Ange Postecoglou’s side from the J-League imports. It would be difficult to picture a Celtic XI without any Japanese players.

Into his fourth transfer window the Postecoglou stamp on the Celtic side is stronger than ever.

Other Scottish clubs are starting to get on board but if Postecoglou can take Celtic to the heights he is aiming for in the European football the lure of a move to Celtic Park will be stronger than ever for emerging players in the J-League.
