It used to involve Sir David Murray’s private jet but this morning the Daily Record was able to bring out the ‘jets in’ treatment after Todd Cantwell was apparently spotted at Glasgow Airport.

During the joys of the Succulent Lamb era new signings would jet in on Sir Dave’s private jet (which was hired), get a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities at Murray Park then sign a bumper deal while knocking back a last minute bid from Manchester United or AC Milan.

The first interview would focus on Europe with only the timing of the Champions League parade through Larkhall to be determined.

These days things are a little more modest, all sorts of spin will be applied to disguise the FACT! That Cantwell hasn’t scored since April 2021.

There won’t be any glowing references to last season’s loan at Bournemouth with Norwich happy to send the wonder boy to an EPL rival.

Six EPL goals between August 24 and January 1 during the 2019/20 season will be the focus with the last three years conveniently airbrushed.

Cantwell has started nine Championship matches this season with Kenny McLean starting 22 games for the Canaries.
