After 18 months alongside Callum McMcGregor, Josip Juranovic saluted a milestone from afar, in his new Berlin base.

Players come and go at Celtic but there is one constant in the side with yesterday’s display at Tannadice the 400th time that the midfielder had pulled on the hoops.

Ronny Deila had just taken over from Neil Lennon when he gave McGregor his debut away to Reykjavik, he responded with the only goal of the game.

McGregor is effectively the last link to Celtic’s Invincible Treble side although James Forrest remains in the squad, on the bench yesterday at Tannadice.

Now wearing the armband, the 29-year-old is Ange Postecoglou’s representative on the park, the player that understands the environment of Scottish football and the demands of his manager.

Last season Juranovic played his part in delivering two trophies to the McGregor collection, with 24 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat domestically this season there is a fighting chance that Celtic could go one better this season.
