Micky Beale is looking forward to catching up with the great lad that is Kyle Lafferty at Kilmarnock tonight.

On Saturday at Hampden the former Ibrox striker made his first appearance following a 10 match SFA suspension for sectarian abuse.

Steven Gerrard signed Lafferty from Hearts in August 2018 but after starting eight matches and some difficulties with social media Steven Gerrard decided to dump the Irishman with Jermain Defoe brought in as back-up to Alfredo Morelos.

Speaking to the Daily Record Beale said:

Listen, Laff is a great lad. We really enjoyed working together. He had one of the best first sessions I have ever seen from a football player. He came in and everything he hit went in and we thought ‘who have we signed here?’

Obviously he was fighting for playing time alongside Alfredo and Jermain Defoe at the time. I remember him scoring a famous goal away at Villarreal and that added to his second time at the club having done very well first time round.

I am looking forward to seeing him actually because he is a good guy. He has had a tough time of late, he has been punished and missed a lot of football and I am sure he is happy to be back playing now to try and put that behind him and move forward.

As I sail before he is a PONCE,he sat in the pub up in Possilpark taking drinks all night from people on benefits who had been daft enough to buy him drinks all night.
He had to be physically carried to the bar to get a round of drinks in as he sat thinking he did not have to buy a round of drinks.
The oossil guys soon got wise to him.
