Lanarkshire duo John Beaton and Willie Collum decided the Glasgow derby with two penalty calls going the way that every Celtic fan expected.
In 20 SPFL Premiership matches Ange Postecoglou’s side have had five penalties awarded against them, many in the ridiculous category such as those given against Matt O’Riley against Ross County and Alexandro Bernabei against Dundee United.
Seven minutes into the second half Carl Starfelt slid into a challenge, seeing the Celtic defender grounded Fashion Sakala stood on Stafelt’s foot with Beaton obliging by pointing to the penalty spot. Collum agreed with the decision.

Midway through the second half Celtic were pushing for an equaliser Carl Starfelt swung a shot at goal, Connor Goldson raised both hands to block with the shot.
Beaton decided to miss it, a so-called VAR check took place with Collum again agreeing with his Lanarkshire colleague that there should be no penalty.
Very poor today Celtic but questions need asked about the point of having var how is that not a penalty how can someone with so many screens say that is not handball ? pic.twitter.com/682qKoU7xc

Kris Boyd saying the rangers penalty was the wrong decision and that Celtic should have had one for the handball.
