Oh Hyeon-gyu is reported to be undergoing a medical today ahead of completing a transfer to Celtic from Suwon Bluewings.

At Friday’s media conference Ange Postecoglou admitted that progress was being with both incoming and outgoing transfer business.

The expected departure of Giorgos Giakoumakis has made signing a striker a priority with the 21-year-old Korean close to becoming Celtic’s fourth January signing.

Football Scotland reports:

Oh Hyeon-gyu will have a medical today ahead of signing for Celtic, Football Scotland can reveal.

We told yesterday how the Hoops were in advanced talks with Suwon Samsung Bluewings over a move for the striker after turning their full attentions to the South Korea star. The club had previously expressed an interest in the 21-year-old and have since progressed the move.

We previously revealed how the player hoped for a move to Europe only to be told by his club that he was “indispensable” and that Bluewings hoped to keep him for one more season. Yesterday, it was understood Celtic had lodged a bid for the attacker and were in serious conversations as they hope to be able to get a deal over the line.

Interest in Oh picked up rapidly in the Korean media overnight on Thursday, with an eight day interval till Celtic’s next match there is likely to be a frenzy of activity.

Giakoumakis was again missing from today’s 5-0 Scottish Cup win over, with Oh signing it looks increasingly likely that the Greek internationalist has played his last match as a Celtic player.
