Moritz Jenz is reported to be a transfer target for several German clubs.

The defender moved to Celtic on loan just before the start of the season and started all six Champions League matches- partnering Cameron Carter-Vickers, Carl Starfelt and Stephen Welsh.

Since the World Cup break Ange Postecoglou has gone with the tried and tested partnership of Carter-Vickers and Starfelt, when the American was injured in midweek Yuki Kobayashi came in for his debut.

Jenz is facing limited playing time over the remainder of the season with the Daily Record reporting:

Defender Moritz Jenz could also be heading for an early Parkhead exit. Several clubs in Germany are interesting in taking the Lorient loan signing this month after he slipped down the Parkhead pecking order following the arrival of Yuki Kobayashi.

Centre back Jenz was not in the squad for the St Mirren win in midweek, and Sky Germany report that time is nearly up for the 23-year-old in Glasgow’s east end. He has chipped in with 19 appearances this term but has not featured since November, when he limped off in the 2-1 win against Ross County.

The signing of Kobayashi put a doubt over the future of Jenz but an early exit on his season long loan would be something of a shock.

As a left footer in central defence there was an element of balance to his partnership with Carter-Vickers but it looks like Kobayashi will now be taking up that role.
