Auchenhowie Road, running alongside the Murray Park training complex is the subject of flooding today after a burst water pipe brought chaos to the area.

Normally a burst water pipe requires a quick visit from the Fire Brigade but today’s accident has broken large sections of tarmac on the road with the water supplies to large parts of Glasgow cut off from late afternoon.

Murray Park was opened in 2001 in tribute to the former chairman of Rangers, over the last couple of years it has been upgraded with a small grandstand added to the facilities.

Micky Beale is due to have his players back in tomorrow for training but it looks like Auchenhowie Road could be out of action for at least the remainder of the week.

An alternative training ground can be used but not with the state-of-the-art facilities that the Ibrox stars are used to in Milngavie.
