Micky Beale has burst the Ibrox transfer balloon by announcing that there will be no announcements today or tomorrow.

Late on Thursday afternoon there was a frenzy of activity over claims that a deal had been agreed with Norwich to sign Todd Cantwell.

Terms with the player and passing a medical would still have to be negotiated but it seems like the sight of someone with blonde hair at Glasgow Airport was enough to get the sports desk at the Daily Record freshening up their ‘jets in’ headline for any Ibrox signing from outside of Scotland.

No comment on the transfers today because we spoke a lot in the week. Soon as it or soon as anyone is signed and sealed youze will be the first to know.

I will say that we are very close on one or two but I don’t really want to elaborate any more on what I said the other day. We will just announce it when it is done.

Beale then went on to not comment on Nicolas Raskin, like every other player in the universe he knows every last detail about the Belgian midfielder
