Police Scotland have identified and charged a fan over a missile throwing incident at Ibrox last Monday.

Just 710 Celtic fans were given tickets for the match, with the lay-out of Ibrox they had opposition fans on two sides with a cordon of Police and stewards there to keep the peace.

Social media posts covered a variety of incidents that the Celtic support had to endure but it seems that at least one culprit has been identified.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with an item thrown during a match at Ibrox on Monday, January 2.

“One man suffered a minor head injury after being struck by the item. He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.”

More than 90% of the home fans at Ibrox are Season Ticket holders which should make identification simpler.
