Standard Liege have turned down an offer to take Nicolas Raskin to Ibrox.

The midfielder turned down the offer of a new contract with Ronny Deila opting to drop Raskin down to the reserves with no game time since before the World Cup Finals.

Ross Wilson has attempted to cash in with a lowball offer for the Belgian u-21 internationalist but Liege have quickly turned that down.

Micky Beale was spouting away about how highly he finks of Raskin but it looks like he will have to wait until the summer to put together his dream team midfield of Todd Cantwell, John Lundstram, Raskin and Ryan Kent.

The Sun reports:

RANGERS have seen a formal transfer bid TURNED DOWN for Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin, SunSport understands.

Gers fans were hopeful that a move for the midfielder had all but been agreed after sources claimed he completed an extensive medical last week.

It had also been claimed that the player has agreed personal terms on a four-and-a-half year deal.

But we understand that in fact no agreement has yet been reached between the Ibrox men and Liege over a transfer fee for the player.

While the value of the offer in question is not known, SunSport understands that the Ibrox men’s initial approach was rejected.

With no sign of any club willing to pay out for any of the Ibrox squad it looks like Beale and Wilson will have to get very creative if they want to add any more players during the January transfer window.
