Steven McLean will referee Celtic’s re-arranged match with St Mirren next Wednesday.

The Glasgow based whistler was in charge of Sunday’s match at Tannadice where Conor Goldson escaped unpunished from another claim of handball in the penalty area.

McLean was in charge of the away win at Tannadice in August and the home win over Hibs in October, following the World Cup break he was in charge at Aberdeen when a late goal from Callum McGregor secured full points for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Wednesday’s match will be McLean’s ninth Premiership match, his fourth this season involving Celtic, not including his VAR role in the win at Hearts in October.

Celtic will be looking for revenge on their only SPFL defeat of the season when the Paisley side visit Glasgow’s east end.

Overseeing the match on VAR duty will be Andrew Dallas who appears to have retired from active refereeing to concentrate on his VAR role. Mike Roncone will be the fourth official, Willie Collum will referee Saturday’s Viaplay Cup semi-final against Kilmarnock at Hampden.

Dizny matter who we get they’re aw Hun Bastards!! Every game has tae be 3-0 at HT then VAR becomes obsolete!!

  • the maister says:

McLean canny see a penalty and Dallas canny help see’in them. So, maybe, they can get it right between the two o’ them next week?!

VAR is NOT making these errors a GRADE 1 REFEREE IS using the VAR TECHNOLOGY. Never mind the silly handball issue everyone is focusing on. A GRADE 1 REFEREE does not know the rules .A player played everyone onside and ABADAS “GOAL” was disallowed. Jota was said to be offside when he “received” the ball. Is the rule not when the ball is “played” that was a top SFA spokesperson. So don’t blame the technology it’s the cheats using the technology

Again.. The same handful of referees every game committing the same mistakes every game. Sack them and get guys in from abroad. Sack a few useless blazers to help pay for professionals!

Again I state the obvious, Record and Broadcast the dialogue between the referee and the VAR ‘ overseers. This policy has been in place in Australia for some time, here it’s a lot darker for historical and current customs that swim in the excesses that make Covid 19 seem a minor cold. Pause and think on how far forward Scottish football could have been if we did not suffer this heavy anchor of bigotry that has served to hold us back for over 100 years.
