Transfer latest with Celtic target in the UK with medical completed

Oh Hyeon-gyu appears to be on the brink of signing for Celtic with one Asian report claiming that the striker is already in the country and has completed his medical.

Since last Thursday night the tone of the speculation has changed with claims that Celtic had reached agreement with Suwon Bluewings and the player.

There has been no official comment from Celtic on any specific transfer but at Friday’s media conference Ange Postecoglou admitted to progress on incoming and outgoing deals.

On Sunday Josip Juranovic joined Union Berlin, now attention is on incoming business with Oh’s arrival appearing to be tied in with the sale of Giorgos Giakoumakis.

Football Asian reports:

Oh Hyeon Gyu, a member of Suwon Youth, has completed his military service while playing for Sangmu and has a contract with Suwon until 2026. Oh Hyun-gyu joined the national team as a reserve at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and participated in the World Cup round of 16.

Oh Hyeon Gyu recently went to UK and is known to have already completed a medical test.

Postecoglou isn’t expected to host any media conference until Friday’s preview of the match away to Dundee United.
