Josip Juranovic has published his farewell message to Celtic supporters.

His stay lasted less than 18 months but was a pivotal time in the club’s history as they reclaimed the SPFL title after appearing to hit rock bottom.

Signing a right-back was an early priority for Ange Postecoglou after Jonjoe Kenny, Hatem Abd Elhamed and Jeremy Frimpong had filled the position in the previous season.

Bizarrely as Juranovic was recruited Tony Ralston emerged as a key figure in the early stages of Angeball but from early on the class of the Croat was obvious.

What can I say…..what a memorable 18 months. My family and I will always remember every part of that journey ? Thank you for making this a special time for us. Sharing the dressing room with so many amazing teammates in this short period of time was unforgettable experience! It was my pleasure working with manager, coaches and staff members. Big thanks to the fans. Each and every one of you made me feel special. Fireball ?? will be always close to my heart! Glasgow will always be GREEN AND WHITE! Once a CELT, always a CELT.

During 2022 Juranovic helped his side to three Glasgow derby victories, to lift the SPFL title and impress in the Champions League and World Cup Finals.

Opportunity has been passed on to Alistair Johnston, the bar has been set high but the Canadian has started his Celtic career impressively, cushioning the disappointment of the departure of Juranovic.

A Celtic immortal, the best Celtic footballer right or left full/wing back to pull on the Shirt since the greatest full back I’ve ever seen Danny McGrain. I wish him continued success. He deserves the opportunity to move to one of Europes top leagues and progress and improve both in football and financial security. Thanks Josip good luck God Bless.
