Ange Postecoglou was short and sweet with an answer about the impact of VAR on Scottish football.

After biting his tongue the Celtic boss hit out at the confusion created by VAR following the Glasgow derby when John Beaton and Willie Collum refused to award a penalty when Connor Goldson used his hands to deflect a shot from Carl Starfelt.

Since VAR was introduced in mid-October Celtic have had five penalties awarded against them, in 21 SPFL matches the side in second place have yet to concede a penalty.

After highlighting his concerns there was a media outcry, Keith Jackson of the Daily Record has been particularly critical of the Celtic boss but every round of fixtures is throwing up fresh controversies with the SFA adopting a vow of silence.

It will be three months this weekend since VAR was introduced to the Scottish Premiership. Overall what’s your thoughts on it, do you think it has helped improve the game?

Ha ha- you must have missed by last four press conferences. My view hasn’t really changed, I’ve already sort of made people aware of my concerns early on. I haven’t addressed it too much since. I think it is all on the record and we move on.

Steven McLean will referee tomorrow’s match between Celtic and St Mirren with Andrew Dallas on VAR duties.
