Despite the foul conditions at Hampden Ange Postecoglou didn’t short cut on his post match thanks and celebrations.
Throughout the best part of two hours the Celtic boss had stood on the touchline, exposed to the elements urging his side on in conditions that made their trademark football almost impossible.
Guided by Callum McGregor and reinforced by Cameron Carter-Vickers Celtic pinned Kilmarnock back for long spells with only a bizarre assist from Kyle Lafferty to show for their possession as the clock struck the 90 minute mark.
Ange Postecoglou seemed to particularly enjoy this evening’s result judging by his reaction after the Celtic – Kilmarnock League Cup Semi at Hampden.
Superb response from the fans as well. pic.twitter.com/mmwFJfiCFC

Fortunately there was a stoppage time goal from Giorgos Giakoumakis to cheer the 40,000 plus Celtic fans before Willie Collum’s final whistle.
While the players, led by Kyogo Furuhashi took their bow Postecoglou as ever held back a little bit, the fans loved it with a special warmth and rapport as he took the thanks of the supporters for delivering another final appearance.
