Ange Postecoglou is still expecting Giorgos Giakoumakis to be transferred from Celtic.
The striker has been the subject of intense speculation throughout January but with most transfer windows now closed he remains a Celtic player.
It had been reported that Giakoumakis had undergone a medical in Amsterdam on Friday ahead of signing for Urawa Red Diamonds but it appears that Atlanta United have matched the offer from the J-League side to Celtic.
For the fourth match running Giakoumakis was missing from the Celtic squad but there were no problem in seeing off Livingston 3-0 at home.
Listening to Postecoglou’s pre-match interview on Radio Scotland where he was asked if the transfer had been completed, The Sun reports the Celtic boss saying:
No, it’s still not finalised. People will be aware that obviously the markets are looking at him under deadline pressure. I expect a conclusion but nothing is confirmed.
The J-League is already underway but has a transfer window that is open until April 2, in the MLS Atlanta start their campaign on February 26 with their transfer window open until April 24.
