Micky Beale is relaxed about coming up with the £5m and wages package to make Malik Tillman’s move to Ibrox permanent.
During the January window Ross Wilson had to scramble around to fund the deals that snapped up Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin. At £2m Morgan Whittaker of Swansea City was out of reach.
Tillman moved on loan during the summer window, with Cantwell signed up and Ianis Hagi back from injury Beale has plenty of competiton in the advanced midfield role.
Apparently Tillman’s stunning form this year might bring other clubs to the table but Beale told the Daily Record that he isn’t bothered by that possibility.
No, because we have the first opportunity to buy him. Bayern have a decision whether they feel he’s going to play for them. There’s a number, we know what it is and we’re comfortable with the number. Also, we wouldn’t just want to buy a boy that maybe wants to be elsewhere.
At the moment, everything is fine. I’ll be honest, I haven’t even had that conversation with Malik. It’s not like you get him in a room and put a gun to his head and ask: ‘Do you want to be here?’ I think he has to show you that in his performances and the way he’s playing.
With a massive rebuild put off until the summer spending £5m on Tillman could seriously impact on Beale’s activities during the summer where he will have to come up with Kemar Roofe type deals to keep Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Filip Helander, Steve Davis, Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor at the club.
Moonbeams
I fink he talks some pish, no money, couldn’t even scrape 2 mil for another player.
I think you will find they will re sign a lot of the out of contract players, mainly due to not having the funds to replace them.
