Micky Beale has confirmed that ‘new signing’ Nicolas Raskin doesn’t have a work permit.

It seems that the SFA were happy to register the transfer from Standard Liege without the proper paperwork with the transfer deadline closing at midnight on Tuesday.

The SFA have a long established relaxed approach to registration matters at Ibrox while hammering clubs from elsewhere.

Reflecting on the transfer window The Sun reports Beale saying:

I’m really happy with the two boys we got in, plus the injured boys returning. It’s really pleasing, but we have another game on Saturday. We are still waiting on a work permit for Raskin. He was at the game last night watching.

Morton were refused permission to sign Nadir Ciftci who has played in Scotland for Dundee United, Celtic and Motherwell over the last decade, in 2022 he was in the Premiership with St Johnstone.

Queens Park are facing elimination from the Scottish Cup for fielding loan signing Ewan Henderson against Inverness Caley Thistle with the striker signed on loan after the match had been postponed from its original date.

It seems that the argument that ‘they won it on the park’ doesn’t apply to all clubs within the SFA, even the oldest running members.
