The ground level coverage from Celtic TV perfectly captured the goals from Kyogo Furuhashi that retained the League Cup for Celtic.

A shoulder injury two weeks ago against St Mirren cast some doubt over the availability of the striker but at 1.45pm his name was on the Celtic team-sheet.

There were three first half chances that fell his way- a header flew wide, he choked on a shot that failed to hit the target and ran into Allan McGregor with the other chance.

Undeterred, three minutes from the interval Kyogo’s instinct took him into the six yard box where he tucked away Greg Taylor’s low cross.

Early in the second half Reo Hatate was the creator with Kyogo getting in ahead of a defender to slam home the cross ball.

Both goals were the results of long passing movements with the speed of movement accelerating in the final 20 yards with yesterday’s opponents unable to match the movement and invention delivered by Angeball.

  • Ooh-Aah Paul McGrath says:

I barely noticed at the time but did only one side get a ‘signature’ tune played when they scored? It was that Madness track when they scored (although given the chunky Colombian netted it, Bad Manners’ “Lip Up, Fatty” might have been more appropriate…) was there an equivalent when we scored? Didn’t hear anything as I was too busy celebrating and it was a bit noisy….
