Among the VAR checks for possible foul and possible offside Matt O’Riley’s pass for Kyogo Furuhashi to score Celtic’s third goal against Livingston has been overlooked.

The Danish u-21 internationalist isn’t having much luck in front of goal but winning possession 25 yards from his own goal he knows exactly what to do.

Kyogo thrives on space, when O’Riley took possession his team-mate was into his stride, anticipating exactly where the ball was heading.

In the 47th minute of the first half he was off and running, the two Livingston defenders went to pieces as their opponent raced forward too one touch to the left then quickly shot across the goalkeeper into the net.

Before that there had been two contrasting goals, at one stage in the build up to the opener Greg Taylor was knocked down in the penalty box but bounced up to fire home his third goal of the season.

The second had a bit of fortune about it as a clearance smacked of Daizen Maeda into the net but it is no coincidence that when you put in the effort that the Japanese World Cup striker gets through these sort of things tend to go your way.
