Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Kyogo Furuhashi will have a scan on the shoulder injury that forced him out of the 5-1 win over St Mirren after 14 minutes.

The striker was chasing a loose ball with St Mirren players on either side when he fell to the ground without any real obvious contact.

Celtic’s physios were quickly on the scene, deciding to take him off with his left shoulder looking immobile as he left the pitch to be replaced by Daizen Maeda at centre-forward with Liel Abada coming off the bench.

Kyogo was spotted in the Celtic dug-out later in the first half and appeared on the pitch after the final whistle without doing his trademark celebrations.

We will see how it is, he’ll get a scan tomorrow. Obviously there is an issue there. He is a pretty quick healer so hopefully it won’t be anything too serious. Yes, disappointed to lose him.

The big concern is that Kyogo suffered another seemingly innocuous shoulder injury in the first couple of minutes of the Glasgow derby.

On that occasion he was replaced by Giorgos Giakoumakis and appeared as a substitute in the next match against Real Madrid.

Following that injury he only scored once in eight matches but has now taken his total for the season to 22.
