I should have taken another week off- Ange despairs over predictable media fishing exercises

Some bright spark at Celtic’s media conference this afternoon decided to get Ange Postecoglou’s thoughts on the latest comments of David Martindale!

It seems that some inside the media bubble are unable to envisage life in the real world, with fresh air, conversations, issues and things of their own to deal with.

Martindale might be utterly adored by most in the Scottish media who hang on his every cliché but other than immediately before and after games against Livingston it is difficult to imagine a scenario where the Celtic boss is sitting about waiting on the latest words of wisdom from the Tony Macaroni.

Last week Postecoglou sent John Kennedy out to deal with the banal and predictable questions from the sharpest minds in the media, less than 10 minutes into today’s stint the hoops boss was looking weary of the same old fishing expeditions hoping for a bizarre headline to conjure up some manager’s feud.

8 minutes 30 seconds

Asked his thoughts on Martindale claiming that the two Glasgow sides were on a level footing the Celtic boss looked close to despairing.

What is probably clear is that I should have taken another week off. Mate I don’t sit there listening to other managers press conferences. There’s 10 other managers or whatever in the league and if you think I spend my time sitting there wondering what each of them, have something to say about ….

Ask me about Aberdeen, ask me about the game tomorrow, about our training. Ask me about what some other manager said in reference to another game altogether is just not on my radar so why I would need to comment on it I have got no idea.
