Kyogo Furuhashi will undergo more scans on his shoulder injury as the clock ticks towards the final of the Viaplay Cup on February 26.

The striker appeared to suffer a fairly routine fall 12 minutes into the Scottish Cup tie against St Mirren on Saturday but after being assessed by the Celtic physios he was replaced by Liel Abada.

Kyogo didn’t appear to have much mobility in his left shoulder as he left the pitch, similar to an early season injury in the Glasgow derby.

Although he returned to take his place in the dug-out and joined in the post-match recognition of the fans his shoulder appeared to be strapped up under a Celtic jacket.

At 7.20am this morning The Sun reported:

KYOGO FURUHASHI will undergo further tests on his shoulder injury today. The Celtic striker is still hopeful he will be fit for the Viaplay Cup final against Rangers on February 26.

SunSport can confirm the Japanese star didn’t train yesterday after being crocked in the 5-1 Scottish Cup win over St Mirren on Saturday.

It’s understood Kyogo is feeling positive after the injury settled down over the last two days. But the Celtic talisman will discover more in the next 24 hours as he undergoes a full scan.

Unless he is 100% fit it looks like Kyogo, with 22 goals so far this season, will sit out Saturday’s match against Aberdeen with Daizen Maeda or Oh Hyeon-gyu starting the game in the striker role.

One shoulder injury is a concern, a reoccurrence five months later will be worrying Postecoglou and Celtic’s medical team.
