Celtic could be adding a fixture in South Korea to their pre-season preparations.

It has already been reported that Ange Postecoglou will take his squad to Japan in mid-July where they are likely to play local opponents as well as a big hitter such as Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City or Bayern Munich.

Getting the balance right between commercial interests and football needs seems to be the key to these fixtures with the SPFL season starting a week later than usual on August 5/6.

The Japanese connection at Celtic is obvious but with Oh- Hyeon-gyu signing in January the trip could have an additional stop off.

The Sun reports:

Meanwhile, Celts look set to add a trip to South Korea to their summer plans.

The Hoops have been invited to play in a glamour tournament in Japan in July against PSG, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Now the trip to the Far East could incorporate a visit to Seoul as part of the club’s global marketing strategy.

Despite having Ki Sung-Yeung and Cha Du Ri at the club a decade ago Celtic have never played in South Korea.

In November Celtic played two matches in Sydney which seemed to suit all parties with the results incidental.

Going on his actions over recent transfer windows there are likely to be a couple of early signings in the summer joining the squad for the vital pre-season preparations.

I’m in Vietnam now,and managed to speak with a party of South Korean tourists, and they instantly knew of Celtic and our Korean signing. Small world.
