The Big Hoos Must Stay Open- 11th Anniversary Special Tribute

Eleven Years Ago today Scotland was discovering that those pesky Internet Bampots had got it right despite the best efforts of old media to discredit them.

Years of wishful thinking came to fruition when Rangers Football Club put themselves into administration to prevent Her Majesty from reclaiming the Income Tax and National Insurance she had been denied since September (partly due to Ally McCoist’s mismanagement) alongside the long overdue Wee Tax Case.

Less than a year earlier Jim Traynor and Chick Young held a public rammy on Radio Scotland after the A word had been brought up in interviews with John Hitchcock McClelland. Traynor remained staunchly loyal to his mentor Sir Dave, Young was prepared to take a look at some facts knowing that there could be nasty consequences.

A few months later Sir Dave accepted a pound coin from a former billionaire, the man from Motherwell was set up as a patsy while Murray told his messengers that he had been duped.

McCoist reacted to administration with the class and dignity that as been his hallmark- he tried to sign Daniel Cousin while Her Majesty went without as hospitals, schools, nurseries and the armed forces were denied much needed resources.

Administration in February was followed by the start of the liquidation process in June, 11 years later it is almost complete.

The Record and BBC remain deep in denial, all sorts of gymnastics have been applied but as Leigh Griffiths once put it ‘beat it, yir club’s deid’.
