With virtually no midweek fixtures the subject of who will be the next manager at Leeds United is getting plenty of attention.

Everton appointed Sean Dyche with relatively little speculation at the tail end of January but Jesse Marche’s sacking and a trip to Manchester United has put Leeds in the spotlight.

Marcelo Bielsa’s former assistant Carlos Corberán has made a massive impact on West Brom and seems to be the logical choice but that hasn’t stopped speculation that Ange Postecoglou could be a contender.

Brighton and Leicester were linked with the Celtic boss earlier in the season, the reality is that it will be a surprise if any EPL vacancy occurs with Postecoglou not in contention.

With Sky Sports News and TalkSPORT having 24 hours a day to fill all sorts of speculation can be aired, earlier today Alex Crook told TalkSPORT:

He’s certainly attracting interest from clubs around Leeds at the bottom of the table. The vibe I’m getting is he doesn’t want to leave Celtic.

Would it be a step up? He’s done a great job over there, Champions League football next season would be a big draw.

I think he’d be a difficult one to get out of Celtic. He might cost a bit to get him out of Celtic too.

Crook seems fairly well connected in England but is unlikely to have much or any contact with Postecoglou.

Frank Trimboli, Postecoglou’s agent and the head of CAA/Base Soccer brought the former Yokohama F Marinos boss to Scotland two years ago and is very well connected across Europe.

The task for Celtic is to ensure that they meet and match the ambitions of a manager who seems to have a genuine attachment that is very rare in the modern game.
