After 17 minutes of yesterday’s match against Micky Beale’s side Jon Nouble was clearly grabbed by Borna Barisic.

It wasn’t fleeting contact but in preparation for a corner the Ibrox defender decided that he needed to break the Laws of the Game to prevent the Livingston forward from connecting with the ball.

Nouble has scored four league goals this season, two of them against the Ibrox side which was clearly an issue that had been identified in the build up to the game.

Football is a contact sport, there is an element of pushing and jostling for an advantage but when you wrap both arms around an opponent and retain that position you have taken things too far, you have committed a foul wherever on the park it occurred.

Strangely Andrew Dallas seemed to miss the incident entirely, after more than a decade as a Grade 1 referee he should know the issues to look out for, what players get upto out of sight of the referee.

Just over five minutes later Dallas was quick to pick up on James Penrice holding the shirt of Alfredo Morelos after missing the initial push from the Ibrox forward.

In February 2019 Dallas awarded four penalties against St Mirren on a trip to Ibrox, at the Celtic AGM in November Michael Nicholson warned shareholders that there would be teething issues with VAR.

Lol we ain’t even out of the month of February and the Christmas cards are on here already.
Shouting and screaming like banshees about decisions yesterday at the sevco game.
So complaints from me,I know the games a bogey next week, they have that cup in the bag the refs have seen to that.

  • Donald Macintyre says:

That was a bad decision but to give Fatboy a penalty for a minor pull on shirt especially when he was never going to win the ball ??. VAR was intended to make decisions easier to reach but the level of incompetence knows no limits.
Sunday will be good but the halfwits will have their say in the result
