Sead Haksabanovic is set to give Celtic an injury boost by playing in tonight’s European Championship qualifier between Montenegro and Serbia.

The winger was substituted at half-time in Friday’s win away to Bulgaria which came at a similar time as injury scares over Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada.

News on why Haksabanovic was replaced was thin on the ground but Football News 24 reports expects him to be in the starting line up for the clash with Serbia:

In view of tonight’s important match, let’s see the probable formations of Montenegro and Serbia. Let’s start with the possible choices of the Montenegrin coach who could field the most classic of 4-4-2. Atletico Madrid (ex Fiorentina ) defender Stefan Savic will lead the defensive rearguard who will be joined by Vujacic . Instead, Lazio full-back Adam Marusic was in one of the two wings . In the midfield four, particular attention to Sead Haksabanovic . In the two attacks, to support Mugosa , Stevan Jovetic.

MONTENEGRO ( 4-4-2 ): Mijatovic; Vesovic, Vujacic, Savic, Marusic; Jovovic, Vukcevic, Scekic, Haksabanovic; Jovetic, Mugosa.

Meetings between two former parts of Yugoslavia are usually lively, after winning in Bulgaria on Friday Montenegro will be looking to follow that up with a win over the top seeds in the group. With Hungary and Lithuania also in Group G six points would be the perfect start in the battle to reach next year’s finals in Germany.

Of more interest to Celtic fans is the safe return of the former Rubin Kazan winger who scored the final goal in the 3-1 win over Hibs in the final match before the international break.

Over the next two days Ange Postecoglou will be able to assess the fitness of his returning internationalists ahead of Sunday’s match at Ross County which kicks off a critical month that includes two Glasgow derbies.
