For reasons only known to themselves the Ibrox PR team called in their favourite newspapers yesterday to interview Micky Beale.

Broadcasters and fan websites weren’t included, this was to be a very specific message halfway through an international break.

The main take that Beale requires at least five first team starters in the summer is fair enough although there are a few suggestions that those players will be of the bargain bucket variety.

Taking that a step further and adding some magic dust for an eye-catching headline takes us to how The Sun portrayed the interview to their readers.

Beale and the PR operation whooped the bears into an enhanced state of euphoria ahead of the Viaplay Cup Final- when reality paid an unwelcome visit banners appeared calling out Stewart Robertson and Ross Wilson.

If Beale falls short in any way next season he will have a lot of explaining to do with three matches against Celtic laying down a marker for a highly interesting summer of trading.
