Kenny Dalglish isn’t surprised that EPL clubs are showing interest in Ange Postecoglou.

Almost on a monthly basis the Celtic boss is linked with a move south of the border with Spurs and Leeds the latest clubs that have been showing interest.

It would be easy for Postecoglou to come out with the line that he is flattered by the speculation but at every turn he has shown nothing other than a determination to get on with the job he has undertaken at Celtic.

Last week Patrick Veira became the 10th EPL boss to be sacked this season with Antonio Conte unlikely to be in charge of Spurs when the EPL resumes on April 1.

Dalglish has observed the speculation, Postecoglou has even been mentioned as a possible successor to Jurgen Klopp, but believes that the sacking culture that opens doors could be one reason that the Celtic boss will stick with job he is currently engrossed in.

Asked about EPL interest in Postecoglou, Football Scotland reports the former Liverpool boss saying:

They’d be stupid not to ask him, but as someone said, it’s manners to wait until you’re asked. Even if he was asked, I don’t know if he would go.

Are you trying to say that Celtic isn’t as big an adventure as some of the clubs that were allegedly interested in him?

Why would he go down to the Premier League to get relegated, or to one of the teams threatened with relegation.

He’d rather be at Celtic looking to win trophies. But it always comes up, when you’re doing well, there’s always someone else interested. And so they should be.

Postecoglou remains on the 12 month rolling contract that he signed when he joined Celtic in June 2021.
