The Daily Record has fallen for an Ally McCoist to Spurs story five days ahead of April Fools.
With print sales expected to drop below 60,000 a day next month the Glasgow based publisher is trying desperately, often too desperately to make an impact on line.
Unfortunately much of the online content just leads to ridicule, destroying whatever credibility that Dave Murray’s favourite newspaper retains.
McCoist stories provide a warm glow for elderly Ibrox fans, casting their thoughts back to the free scoring striker rather than the manager that walked away after one humiliation too many from Alloa.
For 12 months he kept a vow of silence, sticking rigidly to the terms of his gardening leave but with his final payday collected McCoist can he heard most days charming English audiences with his brilliant banter.

The Daily Record reports:
Speaking to talkSPORT, a punter said: “You’re the type of man to kick some sense into them and get them ready for old Poch to come in.”
But McCoist responded with his feet firmly on the ground. The Rangers hero said: “I’ve got to say, Les, with all due respect, I think they have bigger fish to fry than me. It must be so frustrating being a Spurs fan at the moment, in the last few years. What is the lack of consistency.”
Is it April fools a week early

Eh? What? Dear Lord. You will get to the bottom of the barrel if you haven’t got there yet.
