Celtic TV picked the wrong side of the St Mirren goal to set up in yesterday but nothing will detract from the five goals in 45 minutes that took Ange Postecoglou’s side another step towards the title.

Once again the champions were playing second, kicking off with just a six point advantage with a little ray of hope for some when St Mirren took the lead with an early penalty.

Fortunately successful teams find ways to win, grounded six yards from goal Jota instinctively stuck out a leg to poke a shot across goal and in at the far post to level the scores.

A similarly scrappy effort involving Alistair Johnstone five minutes later put Celtic in front with the home side wilting as they backed off against opponents making full use of 80% possession.

There were three more goals to enjoy, after two and a half goal-less games in Paisley Postecoglou suddenly found five in 45 minutes to savour from the league leaders.
