Daizen Maeda has a 50-50 chance of being fit for tomorrow’s Scottish Cup tie away to Hearts.

The Celtic forward was injured while scoring the equaliser during Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over the Edinburgh side, five minutes after scoring he had to go off with Jota taking his place.

With James Forrest out for a couple of weeks it looked like Ange Postecoglou’s wing options for Tynecastle could have been reduced from five down to three after Maeda was spotted on crutches after Wednesday’s match.

The only issue from the other day is Daizen, who it’s fair to say has improved. He didn’t train today, he is still working with the physios but he has improved and I will see how he is tomorrow. It’s fair to say he kind of 50-50 for it. Everyone else is all fine to go.

The 12.15 kick off at Tynecastle tomorrow narrows down recovery time between the two matches but being able to name nine substitutes gives Postecoglou the option to put Maeda on the bench even if he isn’t quite at 100% fitness.

Tomorrow’s match will be played to a finish with Kevin Clany on the pitch and Willie Collum on VAR duty.
