Irony lost on top Ibrox cheerleader as he trashes takeover talk

Jonny McFarlane has laughed off a reported Tribute Act takeover bid with a mention of the buyer being associated with NFTs and Crypto.

If he wants to kit himself out in a top of the range Castore shirt from the club shop he will find Sportemongo covering his lower back, an NFT trader who went out of business on 3 May 2022 but still found their name on the current kit being worn by stars such as Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell.

With Borders Banker Paul Murray opening up his contact book to Kyle Fox the American businesswoman was able to discuss a share purchase with some high flyers but was reluctant to take her interest further after being denied access to the data room.

Despite record turnover in the year to 30 June 2022 the Ibrox club still managed to post a loss- this years turnover is expected to be much reduced although the wage bill has soared with the arrival of Tom Lawrence, Ben Davies and Rabbi Matondo and others.

With a major ‘revamp’ required Micky Beale was only able to bring in two new signings in January- tellingly Ross Wilson was unable to get rid of any high earners as they run down their contracts.
