Ange Postecoglou has no goals and targets in mind for where he can take Celtic.

At St Mirren on Sunday the Australian watched his side score for the 250th time since he took over with tomorrow’s home match against Hearts his 100th in charge of the club.

Three trophies have been lifted with the Viaplay Cup unlikely to be the only piece of silverware that Celtic will win this season.

It is a far cry from the club he inherited in the summer of 2021 with Callum McGregor and Greg Taylor the only two players that have been involved throughout the changeover.

This season there has been regular speculation that Postecoglou could be lured to the bright lights of the EPL last month that reached a frenzy when Leeds sacked Jesse Marsch but anyone thinking that Postecoglou has achieved all that he set out to do at Celtic is in for a disappointment.

QUESTION: How far would you say that you are into your project? Are you near where you want to be, nowhere near where you want to be?

AP: It is an ever vanishing target mate. So if I think that I’m close it just gets further away and that’s the way that I’ve approached my managerial career and it’s the way that I’ve approached every club that I’ve managed.

There is no target. I’ve never set any goals, I’ve always felt that setting goals meant that at some point there is an end point and I just don’t want there to be an end point.

I just want to keep improving, keep pushing the boundaries of how good we can be as a football club, how good I can make these players and how better I can get us playing the kind of football that I want us to. So, we’ll always be at a point where where we want to be is further down the road.

“……Further down the road” and that terrifies them all.
The ‘Brown Brogue’ knuckle shufflers, the ‘succulent lamb’ addicts of the
second rate Scottish ‘Churnalism’ profession (sic), the Scottish Establishment’s phoenix Klub
with it’s deludemol infused gullibles all keekin it at the thought that our own Antipodean
Marvel is here for the duration.
Their children and children’s children will be ‘Feniyuns’.

Glasgow will always be Green & White.

Ha ha absolutely spot on – the wistful hoping that Ange is nearing the end of his Celtic tenure is funny and so pathetic! When you read posts on their forums (as reported on Celtic sites wouldn’t go near them myself) that’s their number one wish that Ange gets a new job and gets the hell out of Dodge!
Hope all is well with you, enjoy reading your posts wherever I see them! Much love C x
