Nick Walsh, Andrew Dallas, Douglas Ross- SFA go all in as Micky Beale takes his side to Motherwell

Motherwell will find themselves up against the most incredible group of officials ever put together by the SFA when they host Michael Beale’s side on Sunday.

Nick Walsh will referee the match, the EIGHTH time that the Bearsden based PE teacher will be in charge of a match involving the Ibrox club. Monday to Friday Walsh works on the fitness of the Murray Park starlets.

Douglas Ross, the portly leader of the Scottish Tories will be wobbling up and down the touchline, almost certainly on the Main Stand side on the pitch to keep him away from the more vociferous home supporters.

Watching the action on VAR will be Andrew Dallas, a decade ago his Daddy resigned from the SFA in disgrace after being caught forwarding anti-Catholic emails.

Graham Stewart will be Walsh’s other assistant, in 2017 he resigned in disgrace from Police Scotland after being fined £500 for assaulting someone called Charles O’Donnell.

Fortunately the SFA have been very forgiving, providing Stewart with virtually a full-time income topped up by lucrative foreign appointments.

In February 2021 after being alerted that his colleague David Roome had tested positive during a jolly to Greece Stewart refused to self-isolate, putting players, officials and staff at risk by taking up an appointment at a match between Hibs and Hamilton.

At the 2021 Celtic AGM Ian Bankier spoke of his deep concern over refereeing issues.
